Malvasia and.. Genius. Leonardo da Vinci relives in Ziano Piacentino (Pc) from 9 to 11 June
A tasting that is part of the Review “Malvasia and …” promoted by the GAL del Ducato in collaboration with the Strade di Emilia and Emilia Wine Experience. Blind tasting The LANDS of MALVASIA.
A blind tasting scheduled at 18:30 at the Fratelli Piacentini winery with a path entitled “Guess the earth”. The tasting will enhance the correspondences between the organoleptic expression of the Malvasia di Candia Aromatica variety and the characteristics of the different soils of origin of the four producers involved, coming from three different lands of the Colli Piacentini for a blind tasting of sparkling Malvasia. The link with Leonardo is very close: Malvasia di Candia Aromatica is, in fact, the variety that he cultivated in Leonardo’s Vineyard in Milan, a vine mainly cultivated on the Colli Piacentini, which have become the territory of choice for this variety.
During the tasting, special combinations with wine and food will also be developed in collaboration with the Mani in Pasta gastronomy laboratory of Castel San Giovanni. After the tasting, it will be possible to dine at Agriturismo Civardi Racemus. The menu starts with a homemade crouton with caramelized red onions with Passito di Malvasia, a trio of DOP Piacenza salami with turmeric focaccia and Racemus giardiniera. Combined with Passito “La Musa del Maestro”, proposed by Agriturismo Civardi Racemus of Montecucco (Ziano). It continues with tortelli with tail seasoned with butter flavored with sage and in combination with Malvasia Frizzante dei Colli Piacentini. Finally “The genius of Leonardo”, a gianduiotto with brioche with Malvasia jelly, glazed with acacia flowers, from the Laboratory of fresh pasta and gastronomy Mani in Pasta of Castel San Giovanni (PC) in combination with partially fermented must. The same dishes can be tasted throughout the weekend in the farm and in the laboratory.
“MALVASIA e…”, the title of the food and wine festival that will touch the different territories of taste between Parma and Piacenza with various initiatives in the period 12 May-18 June. The protagonist is Malvasia, a wine with wide horizons and with a lot of potential to express, which differs from others for its long and centuries-old history. The project is promoted by GAL del Ducato in collaboration with Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli Piacentini, Strada del Fungo Porcino di Borgotaro and Strada del Prosciutto e dei Vini dei Colli di Parma and with the contribution of Emilia Wine Experience, the project to promote Emilia’s wines. An intense program divided into two seasons, spring and autumn, which will see as actors restaurateurs, wineries, farmhouses and gastronomy workshops of the Strade Vini e Sapori di Emilia, which will offer innovative combinations and interpretations between Malvasia and local products.
