Typical of this area is the DOC Colli Piacentini Valnure, a wine that combines immediacy and freshness with a good complexity of aromas conferred by the multifaceted blend with which it is traditionally produced (Malvasia di Candia Aromatica, Ortrugo, Trebbiano Romagnolo and other white grape varieties). The Val Nure is rich in De.Co products. (Municipal Designation of Origin) that maintain a very strong link with the local culinary tradition and the territory.

The Tortello with the tail of Vigolzone, elegant braid of thin puff pastry contains a filling based on ricotta and spinach, seasoned with melted butter, sage and plenty of grated parmesan. The tortelli with the tail are the protagonists of the Tortello Festival, which takes place every year in the Municipality of Vigolzone on the third weekend of July.

The Fig Cake of Albarola, a specialty that can only be tasted in Albarola di Vigolzone.

The Bortellina Bettolese, or “Burtleina”, a kind of pancake made with water and flour, is one of the bastions of Piacenza’s cuisine of popular inspiration.
